Worship

Worship is the loving response of God’s people to who He is and what He has done. It includes praise, prayer, thanksgiving, giving, obedience, service and a life surrendered to God. AfAN promotes worship that is Christ-centred, biblically grounded, Spirit-led and expressed with reverence, joy and sincerity.

Why this matters

Worship is more than music or a church service. Scripture presents worship as a whole-life response to God. Corporate worship gathers believers to honour God together, while personal worship shapes daily conduct, priorities and devotion. Healthy worship draws attention to God rather than performers and helps the congregation respond to His Word and presence.

How AfAN approaches worship

Keep Jesus Christ central in worship.
Give Scripture, prayer and spiritual formation a clear place in corporate gatherings.
Encourage participation rather than performance-centred worship.
Develop worship leaders who combine spiritual maturity with musical and ministry competence.
Promote reverence, joy, order and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
Teach believers that worship continues through obedience, generosity, holiness and service.

Corporate Worship

Congregations gather for praise, prayer, preaching, ordinances, giving and mutual encouragement.

Prayer & Devotion

Members are encouraged to cultivate personal prayer, Scripture reading, thanksgiving and family worship.

Creative Expression

Music, testimony, arts and media may serve worship when they honour Christ and support biblical truth.

Putting worship into action

Members can participate by preparing their hearts before gatherings, engaging actively in prayer and praise, serving faithfully, supporting worship ministries, practising generosity and making obedience to God part of everyday worship.
