The Division of Non-Theological Institutions has oversight over AfAN institutions that do not primarily provide theological training. Its constitutional mandate includes coordinating their programmes, collecting relevant management information, ensuring strategic and budgetary planning, facilitating self-evaluation and receiving periodic progress reports for accountable decision-making.
These responsibilities translate the mandate into consistent ministry practice, planning and accountability.
Coordinate activities and programmes across non-theological institutions.

Ensure institutions develop, implement and review strategic plans and budgets.
Facilitate self-evaluation and institutional improvement.
Receive periodic progress reports and monitor accountability.
Support boards and leaders in maintaining mission alignment and responsible operations.
Non-theological institutions may include different forms of educational, social, development or service entities as authorised by AfAN. Their exact governance and legal responsibilities should reflect the institution’s purpose and the laws of the country in which it operates.
Activities should be planned, budgeted, reported and evaluated within the appropriate AfAN leadership structure, with programmes remaining consistent with the church’s doctrine, vision, mission and policies.
