Midweek Discipleship

Midweek gatherings provide additional space for Bible teaching, prayer, Christian growth, ministry training and practical discipleship beyond the Sunday service.

Purpose

Growing believers beyond Sunday

AfAN leadership guidance emphasises Christian growth classes, prayer ministry, training and practical discipleship. Midweek programmes give local churches space to develop these areas in a focused way.

Schedules may differ from one local church to another. The essential purpose is to help believers understand Scripture, practise the Christian life, pray together and become equipped for ministry and witness.

Typical areas of focus

  • Bible study and doctrine
  • Prayer and intercession
  • New-believer and membership instruction
  • Leadership and ministry training
  • Evangelism and follow-up preparation
  • Family, youth or ministry-group discipleship
Local Scheduling

A flexible local programme

The 2026 annual plan establishes major global dates, while regular discipleship meetings remain part of local church programming. Members should confirm the weekly timetable with their local assembly.
