Church Ministry

Men’s Ministries

Equipping men for spiritual maturity, godly leadership, family responsibility, brotherhood and service.

Our Mandate

Why this ministry exists

Men’s Ministries exists to call men to mature discipleship and responsible Christian manhood. Its mandate is to strengthen men spiritually, build accountable brotherhood, equip husbands and fathers, develop servant leaders, and mobilise men to use their gifts and resources for the work of God and the wellbeing of families and communities.

Core Responsibilities

What the ministry is called to do

These responsibilities translate the mandate into consistent ministry practice, planning and accountability.

Organise Bible study, prayer, mentoring and fellowship for men.

Equip men for healthy marriages, fatherhood and family leadership.

Address practical issues such as work, stewardship, integrity and personal discipline.

Develop male mentors for younger men and boys.

Mobilise men for church projects, missions, compassionate service and community development.

Encourage men to participate consistently in worship, giving, discipleship and ministry leadership.

Local Church Expression

How this works in practice

At local level the ministry should create spaces where men can grow honestly, learn from mature believers and take responsibility for their spiritual lives. Programmes should connect teaching to practical obedience in the home, workplace, church and community.

Activities should be planned, budgeted, reported and evaluated within the appropriate AfAN leadership structure, with programmes remaining consistent with the church’s doctrine, vision, mission and policies.

Desired Outcomes

What healthy ministry should produce

  • Men demonstrate stronger spiritual disciplines and Christian character.
  • Homes benefit from more responsible husbands and fathers.
  • Younger men gain access to healthy mentors and role models.
  • Men contribute their gifts, skills and resources to mission and church development.
