Empowering women to grow as disciples, leaders, mentors, caregivers and witnesses of Christ.
Women’s Ministries exists to strengthen women in faith, discipleship, leadership, family life, ministry and compassionate action. Its mandate is to create opportunities for women of different ages and life stages to grow in Scripture, prayer, fellowship, mentoring and service while using their spiritual gifts for the mission of the church.
These responsibilities translate the mandate into consistent ministry practice, planning and accountability.
Provide Bible teaching, prayer, fellowship and discipleship programmes for women.
Develop mentoring relationships between mature and younger women.
Equip women for ministry, leadership, family responsibilities and community service.
Support women facing hardship, grief, vulnerability or major life transitions.
Mobilise compassionate action for families and communities.
Encourage women to discover and use their gifts within the life and mission of AfAN.
Local Women’s Ministries should combine spiritual formation with practical support and service. The ministry should be welcoming to women across generations, marital statuses, professions and backgrounds, building a community in which women can grow, contribute and mentor others.
Activities should be planned, budgeted, reported and evaluated within the appropriate AfAN leadership structure, with programmes remaining consistent with the church’s doctrine, vision, mission and policies.
Connect with your local AfAN leadership to learn how you can participate, volunteer, pray, give or help strengthen this area of ministry.
