Educational Institutions exist to advance learning and human development in a manner consistent with AfAN’s Christian values and mission. Their mandate is to provide quality education, responsible governance, character formation and opportunities that equip learners to serve God, family, community and society.
These responsibilities translate the mandate into consistent ministry practice, planning and accountability.
Establish and support schools, colleges or education programmes where authorised.
Maintain appropriate academic, administrative and safeguarding standards.
Recruit and develop competent staff consistent with institutional requirements.
Integrate Christian values appropriately within educational life.
Ensure strategic planning, budgeting, reporting and institutional accountability.
Build partnerships that strengthen learning opportunities, infrastructure and student support.
Local churches may support education through schools, tutoring, scholarships, literacy activities, mentoring and partnerships. Formal educational institutions should operate under the governance, legal and professional requirements applicable to their setting.
Activities should be planned, budgeted, reported and evaluated within the appropriate AfAN leadership structure, with programmes remaining consistent with the church’s doctrine, vision, mission and policies.
