District-level leadership that coordinates Clusters, strengthens ministers, implements AfAN policy and supports local church growth.

District Administration

The District turns divisional direction into coordinated ministry among Clusters

A District is an administrative area within a Division. It coordinates Clusters and local ministry across its geographical area, ensuring that AfAN's vision, policies, pastoral standards and operational expectations are consistently implemented.

District leadership

The District is led through District Assembly Standing Officers and a wider District Assembly Committee.

Annual Assembly

Planning, review and accountability

The District Assembly meets to discuss the plan and work of the District and to complete business required before higher church assemblies.

District Functions

What the District is responsible for

District Office

Manage the affairs, administration and records of the District and maintain effective communication with the Division.

Strategic Planning

Prepare and implement district strategy, operational priorities and budgets in line with AfAN direction.

Cluster Supervision

Coordinate and supervise the programmes of Clusters and approve their operational plans and initiatives.

Vision & Policy

Ensure the vision, mission, doctrine and policies of AfAN are understood and implemented throughout the District.

Ministerial Care

Recommend placements and transfers, address ministerial discipline, support minister welfare and help develop ministers.

Cluster Development

Create or recommend new Clusters where growth and geography require stronger local coordination.

Credentials

Carry defined responsibilities for ministerial credentials, assessment and ordination processes under the Constitution and By-Laws.

Appeals

Provide a higher accountability level for appropriate disciplinary matters arising from local assemblies.

District Convention

Organize district-wide gatherings for spiritual renewal, fellowship, ministry alignment and shared mission.

The District's Goal

Healthy Clusters and consistent local ministry

The District makes oversight close enough to be practical. It supports Cluster leaders, coordinates ministerial and administrative matters, promotes church planting and helps ensure local churches receive timely leadership and accountability.
