Country-level leadership that translates AfAN’s global vision into accountable national governance, mission, administration and ministry.
Each National Church is responsible for governing, administering and developing AfAN within its country. It gives legal and ecclesiastical leadership to the church nationally while coordinating divisions, ministries, institutions, missions and national programmes.
Together these bodies provide authority, accountability, executive leadership and day-to-day administration.
Elects national executive leadership, receives and endorses major reports, plans and programmes, exercises constitutional powers provided to it, and appoints key external accountability roles such as auditors and legal representation.
Prepares matters for the General Assembly, considers proposals and executive reports, receives audit reporting, provides appellate and disciplinary oversight, and holds the National Executive Committee accountable.
Represents the church nationally, implements policy and development plans, manages strategic partnerships, oversees ministers and ministry directors, ratifies strategy and budgets, coordinates credentials and organizes national conventions.
Manages the National Office, administrative staff, strategy, budgets and policies covering operations, finance, human resources, assets and investments, and serves as the secretariat of the General Assembly.
The National Church does not attempt to administer every local church directly. It works through Divisions, Districts and Clusters so that policy, pastoral support, reporting and ministry coordination are carried out at practical geographical levels.
