The Division of Missions oversees AfAN missionary activities and programmes both within and outside each nation. Home Missions focuses on church planting within national boundaries, especially among unreached people groups, while Foreign Missions carries the work beyond national boundaries. The mandate is to research mission needs, send and supervise workers, mobilise prayer and support, and establish multiplying churches.
These responsibilities translate the mandate into consistent ministry practice, planning and accountability.

Select, orient, place, supervise and support missionaries and church planters.
Coordinate Home Missions and Foreign Missions programmes.
Mobilise local assemblies to pray, give and participate in missions.
Receive reports and evaluate mission fields and missionary progress.
Ensure mission work reflects AfAN’s vision, mission, doctrine and policies.
Local assemblies support missions through regular prayer, giving, sending workers, identifying potential church planters and participating in outreach. The mission of the church begins locally but intentionally extends beyond familiar communities and national borders.
Activities should be planned, budgeted, reported and evaluated within the appropriate AfAN leadership structure, with programmes remaining consistent with the church’s doctrine, vision, mission and policies.
